Tickets and money
When does the FX fee apply?
Answer
Only when you price tickets in US dollars or euros, at an estimated 2.5% of the ticket amount. Yen-only events have no FX fee.
Details
- The FX fee covers converting revenue taken in a foreign currency into the yen you are paid in. Pricing in yen avoids it entirely.
- The FX fee is always borne by the host. Even with fees set to buyer-borne, the FX fee is never added on top of what the buyer pays.
- So for a foreign-currency event, buyer-borne fees still leave you with slightly less than the ticket price — the FX fee comes out of your side.
- The amount shown is an estimate. i'm in absorbs the difference against the real cost, so what the buyer pays and what you receive match what was shown.
- The payout preview in ticket settings shows your expected amount with the FX fee already taken into account.
